Mr. Lee is a seasoned private equity and venture capital investment professional with extensive experience in private equity, corporate finance and project finance in Asia as well as Europe. He previously led the investment activities in Asia for NIF SMBC Ventures. On May 2008, Mr. Lee left NIF SMBC for LNS Partners Asia Limited, a Hongkong based Private Equity Fund Company, with title of Managing Director.
Prior to joining NIF SMBC Ventures Asia, Mr. Lee was a director at the Mergers and Acquisitions department of a major European investment bank in Hong Kong, responsible for mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital and buyout transactions in North Asia.
Mr. Lee was a Vice President (Head of Korea) of Lombard Investment Inc., managed over US$200m of portfolio. He has diversified exposure to retailing, food processing, financial services, education services, information technology and infrastructure industries. He has extensive working experience in Greater China, South Korea and Thailand. He was also instrumental in the divestment of Good Morning Securities in Korea in 2001, which was awarded the “Best Private Equity Exit” by FinanceAsia magazine.
Prior to Lombard, he was the co-head of the Asian project finance arm for a major German investment bank, based in Hong Kong, London and Germany.
Mr. Lee is a member of CPA Australia where he is a founding member of the Corporate Governance Committee. He is also a committee member of the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. He holds a degree major in economics and finance from the University of Sydney, Australia.
