Shelby Chen is General Partner of of Tsinghua Venture Capital Management Co., Ltd. Shelby Chen brings nine years of venture capital industry experiences to Tsing Capital.
He started his venture investment career with WI Harper Group in San Francisco as a Vice President, followed by founding and running a venture advisory and investment firm in Beijing as the Managing Partner. Shelby has extensive venture investment and M&A transaction experiences and track record, solely responsible for sourcing, engaging, and executing transactions including a $45M investment round in a leading outsourcing company in China; acquisition of the largest independent security system integrator by a Fortune500 company; and acquisition of the largest Chinese online advertising agency by a leading global media conglomerate.
Prior to his venture investment career, Shelby had more than 10 years global corporate working experiences in marketing and business development with GE, Lucas Control Systems, and DuPont Electronics based in USA, Beijing, and Hong Kong. He was specialized in developing market opportunities in new and emerging markets in Asia through strategic partnerships.
He holds a MS in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University, a post graduate diploma from School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, and a BS in Automation Engineering from Tsinghua University.
